Solar Patio Lights
A few solar patio lights can do wonders to your outdoor area and bring a totally new atmosphere to it. The best thing is that after you install the necessary solar powered fixtures, all the required energy to operate the whole rig will be provided by the sun.
Solar patio lighting of today is much brighter and powerful than it used to be only a few years ago due to the rapid development of the solar technology. Overall, solar cells, batteries and light bulbs are much more efficient nowadays than most of the models used in the past. The light emission of the newer products is much brighter and whiter, while that from the older solar lights models was quite dim and yellow looking.
Solar patio lights have a solar cell attached (generally on the top) that gathers energy from sun beams. The energy is then stored in the rechargeable battery and when the sun sets, the lights get turned on automatically. How much time the lights will shine depends both on the strength of the battery and on the amount of sunlight that the solar cell collected throughout the day. However, normally you won’t know how long they stay on because you’ll be long asleep before the lights from the solar powered fixture start to dim out.
Almost all lighting fixtures that are designed for lighting up patio walkways are between 1 foot to 2 feet high and they are placed on a pole which is then stuck in the ground. There are many different models available, but normally there are two distinct designs available in two different types of fixtures. The first type features the light fixture sitting on the very top of the pole while the second type features a pole with a hook from which the fixture dangles.
Both models work the same way and it’s just a matter of personal taste when it comes to the model you end up purchasing. No other kind of outdoor solar lights are easier to install than those which are solar powered. All you need to do is simply choose your location, then measure and make sure that the supporting poles are at an equal distance apart and then fix them into the ground. Make sure that all the poles are at the same height level and correct any of them if it’s either too tall or too short.
Your solar patio lights will require extremely little maintenance from your part. Usually rain fall will maintain the solar cells clean enough so they won’t require any additional cleaning. But if you do notice a smaller level of light output, then a quick spray with your garden hose and a wipe down with a rag will have your outdoor patio lights shining just fine again.
